Jaguar F-Type Convertible Specs
Before we talk about Gadot’s Jaguar F-Type Convertible, let’s first talk about the car itself. The Jaguar F-Type is a two-door, two-seater sports car manufactured in Britain by Jaguar Land Rover. The F-Type debuted in 2013 as the successor to the E-type and the replacement for the XK grand tourer. The car was initially debuted as a two-door soft-top convertible with a two-door fastback coupe option. Today, it’s been refreshed several times with radically redesigned features from the front end and engine to drivetrain options.
The Jaguar F-Type was introduced in 2000 with a 3.0-liter V6 engine from the S-Type saloon. It was designed to compete against the Porsche Boxster and later was reintroduced in Sundance, London in 2013 as a convertible. Regardless of the redesign, it made waves in the industry as Jaguar’s first sports car in over 50 years. And Jaguar certainly didn’t disappoint.
The F-Type features a lightweight aluminum frame with a front engine and rear-wheel drive making it truly feel like a sports car. There are three models available ranging from $69,000 to $100,000 depending on engine option with the 340-horsepower V6 engine running on the low end while the 495-horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine will set you back $100,000. This is of course what Gadot drives!
The F-Type offers a Quickshift automatic transmission with a center-console mounted gear selector, which confused many sports car enthusiasts looking for a manual transmission. Regardless, the car didn’t disappoint with a top speed of 195 miles per hour. The F-Type with a V6 engine can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds while the F-Type with a V-8 engine makes the acceleration in 4.8 seconds flat. Talk about sheer exhilaration behind the wheel!
Today, the F-Type is still in production and recently underwent an entire facelift in 2021. The redesign was revealed in December 2019 with the F-Type featuring a redesigned front-end as well as a new engine and drivetrain options.
Gadot’s Jaguar F-Type Convertible
Gadot first got behind the wheel of the Jaguar F-Type Convertible on the set of Fast & Furious 6 where she gripped the steering wheel and sped right into the hearts of audiences around the world. Her role in the film truly put her on the map as she empowered women of all ages from her natural beauty to her bravery doing most of her own stunts. “For girls… it’s about the way it looks,” she said of the car. “And I absolutely love the way it looks.”
Gadot was thrilled from the moment she sat behind the wheel, yelling “Wow-ow-ow,” as the engine roared to life. “I enjoy the pace of a good car,” she said. “The way you sit down close to the road and feel everything.”
In 2013, Gadot got behind the wheel of the Jaguar F-Type convertible once again when she attended the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend. The event included a private reception hosted by Jaguar but the biggest draw to the event was when Gadot got behind the wheel of the F-Type. She participated in a caravan of red, white, and blue F-Type vehicles as they drove through the streets of Monterey, California. What a great way to promote the Jaguar brand as well as her new Fast & Furious 6 film!
